But when things ramp up, it can be difficult to establish work boundaries when you’ve got work calls coming in at all hours of the day. Independent energy consultancy, VTEC Energy, felt they weren’t able to switch off from work when using a personal mobile for calls, and displaying a personal mobile wasn’t professional for their business.
We introduced VTEC to Communicator GO’s mobile app and a local landline number with operational times so that customers could only ring during working hours. Outside of these hours, their calls would go to voicemail rather than through the app.
‘We’re always on the move so can’t always answer the office phone’
Running a small business means you’re often on the move, and being in the office to answer the phone becomes difficult. Kind Evolution travel regularly, so they came to us looking for a way to handle calls whilst on the move. They service clients across the UK and the world, so they also wanted to avoid advertising a local number.

Every business works differently, and Monmouthshire Brecon and Abergavenny Canals Trust’s (MBACT) team works across various locations of the canals. They were using their personal mobile phones to contact one another. The not-for-profit company needed to be able to transfer calls between each other seamlessly so opted for our Communicator GO app.
We set up several Communicator GO apps, enabling them to use the business number only, and easily transfer calls within the team. We implemented a single telephone line that supports the main canal centre, office, a future boat booking line, and the Fourteen Locks Cafe.
