Monmouthshire Brecon and Abergavenny Canals Trust is a not for profit company with an onsite café at Fourteen Locks Canal Centre.

Broadband in the area was quite restricted, and they had problems using the internet that they had, and the wi-fi signal was poor, which caused problems with their onsite cafe taking card payments.

Colleagues were working across various locations of the canals and could only contact each other using personal mobile phones.

Another problem was problems contacting their provider, struggling to speak to the call centre agents and often feeling that they couldn’t receive any technical help.

Their IVR system and voicemail needed updating along with the equipment on site. MBACT also faced budget issues being a not for profit company in the local area.

Although quite a rural area, we provided them with fibre to the premise broadband with speeds of 80/20. We supplied them with a robust wi-fi system that supports the required devices effectively.

We also have set up several Communicator Go Apps, enabling them to use the business number only and transfer calls to one another seamlessly. The single telephone line we provided now supports the main canal centre, the MBACT office, a future boat booking line and the Fourteen Locks Cafe.

We give them the same level of support as all of our customers with a direct line to our support desk and ongoing account management for any changes that they may face as a business.

We have updated their greeting and IVR to suit their current requirements.

To support them as a local, not for profit business, we have supplied them with free telephone handsets and a broadband router. They now benefit from discounted ongoing services from us, and we are looking forward to a long-running relationship with them.
