Supporting Women in Telecoms
At RPS Telecom, we believe a stronger telecommunications sector depends on diverse perspectives, visible role models, and access to meaningful career development opportunities.
That’s why we actively support Women in Telecoms, an industry community bringing together professionals from across operators, vendors, MSPs, and sector bodies to help improve visibility, progression and support for women working in telecoms and connectivity.
Our Involvement
Our Managing Director, Natalie Strange, serves as Co-Chair of Women in Telecoms, working alongside colleagues across the industry to support:
- Career development sessions and mentoring conversations
- Increased visibility of female leaders in telecoms
- Cross-industry collaboration between SMEs and larger organisations
- Contributions to policy discussions shaping the future workforce
- Practical tools to help individuals plan their progression within the sector
This work complements our wider commitment to supporting professional development both inside our organisation and across the telecoms community.
Why This Matters
Telecommunications underpins the UK’s digital infrastructure, yet like many technical industries, women remain under-represented across engineering, leadership and specialist roles.
Creating a more inclusive sector isn’t just the right thing to do — it strengthens skills pipelines, improves decision-making, and helps organisations better reflect the customers and communities they serve.
As a long-standing independent telecoms provider, we see first-hand how important it is that the industry continues to attract and retain talented people at every stage of their careers
Encouraging Future Skills and Leadership
The telecoms landscape is evolving rapidly, with new technologies, platforms and ways of working reshaping the skills organisations need.
Through our involvement with Women in Telecoms, we support conversations around:
- Transferable skills and career mobility
- Leadership development
- Mentoring and sponsorship
- Professional confidence and visibility
- Navigating change across technical roles
These are important not only for individuals, but for the long-term resilience of the sector.
