Can you share with us a bit about yourself and your background?
Since graduating with my bachelor’s in mechanical engineering in 2021 I have spent the majority of my professional career in luxury and solution-based sales roles. However, after relocating to Cardiff and seeking a change in career I found RPS and the Telecoms industry.
What attracted you to apply for a role at RPS Telecom?
The diversity the role offered paired with RPS’s company values which I aligned with and the opportunity to develop within a business that is small and close knit but growing were the main factors that drew me in.
What does your role involve?
A bit of everything! My role is primarily operations focused but on a development path that sees me involved in and learning from other departments across the business from Marketing to Accounts!
What are you most looking forward to?
Stretching myself and broadening my knowledge and skills in an industry that is entirely new to me. I like to keep busy and am always up for a challenge which I believe this role will provide!
Where do you see the telecoms industry heading in the next few years, and how do you think RPS is positioned in that future?
The industry is certainly here to stay and looks to be constantly growing. Connectivity is becoming more of an essential for businesses with the increase in remote and online working and RPS remains a personable and approachable face in an otherwise cold and overly competitive landscape.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Do you have any hobbies or passions outside of work?
I play in several gigging bands with most of my evenings and weekends being spent travelling around the south west to record or play shows at weddings, festivals, etc. If you don’t find me on stage or in a studio, you’ll probably find me out in the Welsh valleys on my bike – I’m a big road cyclist and am currently training for a few big Gran Fondo events and next year’s crit racing season.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
Not many people know this about me but throughout my teens I was a competitive Irish dancer most noticeably achieving 18th in the world championships in Boston in 2014.
